Abdullah joined Saudi Aramco on March, 1981. He graduated from University of South Western Louisiana with Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineer. Throughout his career, he worked both in offshore and onshore fields as a design engineer, maintenance engineer, operation engineer , facility and project engineer.

For the last 20 years, he specialized on the Artificial lift technology; specially in the field of the Electrical Submersible Pumps and the Gas Lift. He developed major Saudi Aramco fields for Artificial Lift where the production went up 4 times more in some fields. He led several conferences/forums as a chairman including MEALF 2009 & 2011
